At LILLIPODS, we are guided by five core values that support your child’s growth and well-being. We believe every child deserves a safe and playful start in life, where they feel happy, cared for, and free to explore. We empower children by valuing their ideas, encouraging independence, and helping them discover their strengths.

We also teach children to care for others and the world around them, building empathy and responsibility. Through meaningful and playful learning, we nurture a natural love for discovering new things. Most importantly, we build a strong community of trust and appreciation, where families, children, and educators work together in partnership and respect.

  • Our Educational Values

  • Safe and Playful Childhood

Every child has the right to a safe and playful childhood.

This means being surrounded by caring adults who build trusting, lasting relationships and offer comfort and support whenever needed. Children thrive in safe, well-equipped environments with clear, balanced routines that help them feel secure. We believe play is a child’s natural way of learning. Through play, children explore, express themselves, and make sense of the world. That’s why we give them time, space, and the freedom to lead their own play, always respecting their right to choose how they play and what brings them joy.

  • Caring for the World and One Another

Caring for the world & one another means we nurture respect for self, others, and the environment as a foundation for caring. Children are encouraged to practice eco-friendly habits and attitudes, as well as kindness and fairness in their daily interactions. We promote an appreciation for diversity by helping children recognise and respect differences. Empathy is developed through everyday actions, and children are supported in helping others as a natural part of their social and emotional growth.

  • Love for Learning

Love for learning means we foster children's natural curiosity by using age-appropriate, playful learning approaches that make learning engaging and meaningful. Learning is embedded in everyday moments, making it a continuous and enjoyable experience. By personalising learning through children's interests and celebrating their individual strengths, we build confidence and motivation. We also create a low-stress, joyful learning environment where each child feels safe, supported, and eager to explore.

  • Empowering Every Child

Empowering every child means seeing them as capable individuals who deserve to be treated with respect and fairness. We value their thoughts and ideas, giving them the chance to share their opinions and be part of decisions that affect them. By listening, including, and supporting each child, we help them feel confident and valued. We focus on their strengths, believe in their potential, and trust in their ability to grow, learn, and overcome challenges with encouragement and care.

  • A Community of Trust and Appreciation

Building a community of trust and appreciation means  encouraging open dialogue, where everyone feels free to ask questions and share opinions. Being transparent and honest creates a sense of security. Valuing others’ perspectives ensures everyone feels heard. Involving both children and adults in decision-making strengthens belonging. Focusing on strengths helps create a positive environment, and leading by example with respectful behavior reinforces these values daily.

LILLIPODS Subjects

At LILLIPODS Preschools, each subject is designed to support children's learning and development through teacher-led activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and academic skills. These subjects take into account each child's individual perspective, giving them the opportunity to shape their own learning through hands-on, playful experiences. Based on Finnish Early Childhood Education, which values well-being and social skills.

  • A cartoon white goose standing in front of a green chalkboard with the words 'Hello! Hej! Hallo!' written on it. The goose is holding a pointer and has large eyes and an orange beak.

    Language

Language skills help children build vocabulary, understand sounds, and communicate better. At LILLIPODS, we make language fun through interactive activities like storytime with props, singing songs and rhymes, and encouraging conversation. We also use picture books with textures and sounds to make learning language an exciting experience.

  • A cartoon ladybug in front of a chalkboard with a math problem showing two apples plus two apples equal two.

    Numeracy

Early math focuses on numbers, shapes, and patterns. We teach math in playful ways, like counting objects, going on shape hunts, and building patterns with toys or snacks. Children enjoy puzzles and sorting blocks by size, color, or shape, making math fun and interactive at LILLIPODS.

  • A cartoon goose wearing a basketball headband holding a basketball, standing next to a basketball hoop and backboard.

    Physical Education (P.E.)

Physical education helps children develop motor skills and coordination through active play. At LILLIPODS, we create obstacle courses, play movement games like “Simon Says” and “Freeze Dance,” and encourage children to imitate animal movements. Our outdoor spaces with slides, tunnels, and open areas provide plenty of opportunities for running, jumping, and dancing.

  • A cartoon illustration of a butterfly, ladybug, and caterpillars on a yellow platform.

    Socio-Emotional Skills

Learning how to manage emotions, share, and communicate effectively is an essential part of development. We practice these skills through role-playing, feelings charts, and group activities. Children use storybooks and puppet shows to understand emotions in a safe and fun way.

  • A cartoon blue butterfly insect with big eyes, holding a pink magnifying glass, looking at a potted plant with pink flowers on a pink and yellow table against a light green background.

    Science & Environment

Science and environmental education help children explore the world around them. We take nature walks, engage in water play, and conduct simple experiments to teach about nature and how things work. At LILLIPODS, children can explore gardens, watch seeds grow, and experience science firsthand.

  • Cartoon flowers with speech bubbles, one with a paintbrush, being painted on a canvas on an easel.

    Arts & Culture

Creativity and self-expression are fostered through art, music, and performance. We encourage children to engage in creative art projects, explore music and dance, and learn about different cultures through storytelling. Our children enjoy painting, making collages, and participating in group music activities like drumming and singing.
