Learning the LILLIPODS Way

Inspired by Finland. Tailored for Your Child.

At LILLIPODS, we are guided by five core values that support your child’s growth and well-being. We believe every child deserves a safe and playful start in life, where they feel happy, cared for, and free to explore. We empower children by valuing their ideas, encouraging independence, and helping them discover their strengths.

We also teach children to care for others and the world around them, building empathy and responsibility. Through meaningful and playful learning, we nurture a natural love for discovering new things. Most importantly, we build a strong community of trust and appreciation, where families, children, and educators work together in partnership and respect.

Our Educational Values

  • A man with dark curly hair, glasses, and a beard, wearing a dark green sweater, looking to the side in a bright room.

The Right to Safe and Playful Childhood

We protect childhood as a time for joy, exploration, and imagination. At LILLIPODS, play is not a luxury—it is a right, and we nurture it as the most powerful path to learning for children.

Caring for the World and One Another

We want to raise future citizens from the start. By nurturing empathy, equity, and environmental responsibility, we equip children to shape a kinder, more just world.

  • Love for Learning

We do not just focus on school readiness—we nurture life readiness, too. By turning curiosity into courage and learning into a lifelong journey, we ignite the fire that fuels future innovators and thinkers.

  • Empowering Every Child

We believe every child deserves to be heard, respected, and trusted as an active participant in their own growth—we make this non-negotiable at LILLIPODS.

  • A Community of Trust and Appreciation

At LILLIPODS, we lead by example, building a culture where transparency, inclusion, and shared power are not aspirations—they are our daily practice. We believe everyone belongs, everyone contributes, and everyone matters.

LILLIPODS Subjects

At LILLIPODS Preschools, each subject is designed to support children's learning and development through teacher-led activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and academic skills. These subjects take into account each child's individual perspective, giving them the opportunity to shape their own learning through hands-on, playful experiences. Based on Finnish Early Childhood Education, which values well-being and social skills.

  • Science & Environment

Science and environmental education help children explore the world around them. We take nature walks, engage in water play, and conduct simple experiments to teach about nature and how things work. At LILLIPODS, children can explore gardens, watch seeds grow, and experience science firsthand.

  • Socio-Emotional Skills

Learning how to manage emotions, share, and communicate effectively is an essential part of development. We practice these skills through role-playing, feelings charts, and group activities. Children use storybooks and puppet shows to understand emotions in a safe and fun way.

  • Physical Education (P.E.)

Physical education helps children develop motor skills and coordination through active play. At LILLIPODS, we create obstacle courses, play movement games like “Simon Says” and “Freeze Dance,” and encourage children to imitate animal movements. Our outdoor spaces with slides, tunnels, and open areas provide plenty of opportunities for running, jumping, and dancing.

  • Numeracy

Early math focuses on numbers, shapes, and patterns. We teach math in playful ways, like counting objects, going on shape hunts, and building patterns with toys or snacks. Children enjoy puzzles and sorting blocks by size, color, or shape, making math fun and interactive at LILLIPODS.

  • Language

Language skills help children build vocabulary, understand sounds, and communicate better. At LILLIPODS, we make language fun through interactive activities like storytime with props, singing songs and rhymes, and encouraging conversation. We also use picture books with textures and sounds to make learning language an exciting experience.

  • Arts & Culture

Creativity and self-expression are fostered through art, music, and performance. We encourage children to engage in creative art projects, explore music and dance, and learn about different cultures through storytelling. Our children enjoy painting, making collages, and participating in group music activities like drumming and singing.

Soft Skills in ECEC

Soft skills are essential for supporting overall development. At LILLIPODS, we integrate soft skills into daily activities like play, routines, and social interactions. Children learn how to communicate, collaborate, and grow through:

  • Thinking and Learning

Children explore creativity and problem-solving, testing ideas and reflecting on their experiences.

  • Cultural Competence, Interaction, and Self-Expression

Children learn to respect diversity and express themselves through stories, art, and music.

  • Taking Care of Oneself and Managing Daily Life

Routines and responsibilities help children develop independence, self-regulation, and life skills.

  • Multiliteracy and ICT Competence

Children explore different forms of media, including digital tools, to express ideas and learn about safe media use.

Participation and Involvement - Children learn to become active members of their community, making decisions and taking responsibility for shared tasks.

Full Day Flexibility for Families

LILLIPODS Unique Offering

  • The Core (half-day) + Extension (caretaking & club) model at LILLIPODS is thoughtfully crafted by Finnish and global early education experts. We believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and continuous environment where they can learn and thrive. Unlike traditional preschools, where learning often ends with the conventional pick-up time, LILLIPODS offers families the option to extend their child's day through our after-school club. This allows children to seamlessly carry forward their daytime learning and experiences into an engaging, immersive environment that encourages further exploration and play.

  • LILLIPODS model is thoughtfully designed to offer working parents maximum flexibility, allowing parents to align school attendance and pick-up times with their child's natural rhythm, making daily routines more manageable and reducing stress while maintaining consistency. This flexibility gives parents greater control over their time, helping them better balance work, family responsibilities, and self-care.

  • Inherited from Finnish ECE excellence and blended with global research, LILLIPODS curriculum is designed to help young children flourish holistically (socially, emotionally, and cognitively), but also help them excel in academics such as math and language skills. With research-backed curriculum and qualified teachers, children can thrive academically, while also developing important social skills.

  • At LILLIPODS, we prioritize the safety and well-being of every child in our care. Our facilities are designed with the highest safety standards in mind, including secure entrances and state-of-the-art security systems. We also provide a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel comfortable to explore and grow at their own pace. With caring and dedicated staff members, parents can trust that their child is in good hands at LILLIPODS.

  • The LILLIPODS model is designed with a strong focus on school readiness, ensuring children develop the confidence and skills needed for a smooth transition into formal education after preschool. Unlike other preschools that often prioritize academic testing and evaluation, LILLIPODS takes a more balanced approach. While fostering success in academic areas, it emphasizes nurturing socio-emotional skills, reducing stress and anxiety in the process. Research shows that these socio-emotional skills are essential for long-term success, paving the way for children to thrive in primary and secondary school.
